Dust mites thrive in humid environments with temperatures of between 17—32°C. One such environment is your bedroom.
Symptoms of dust mite allergy include stuffy nose, sneezing, itchy eyes, red and swollen eyes, and worsening of childhood eczema and asthma.
Enzymes in dust mite fecal matter and certain body parts of dead dust mites act as allergens. A dust mite can produce 200 times its own weight in excrement per day.
It is estimated that approximately 200,000,000 people worldwide suffer from dust mite allergies. Unfortunately, its symptoms are similar to those of hay fever, leading to confusion in diagnosis.
Our down products adhere to the European NOMITE Classification (Class 1). This certifies both that our products contain no dust mites and that the bolster is so tightly woven as to prevent new dust mites from entering.
All of our down products are hypoallergenic since they can be washed at 60°C.
